The fact that there’s “fruit” in the name might make you think this food is healthy. Well, nothing could be farther from the truth. Fruit loops have as much fruit in them as does a pound (or 1/2 kilogram) of sugar. They’re actually a concoction of artificial flavours and flour plus a bunch of chemicals you can’t pronounce. Your kid might be screaming when you pass by the colourful packages on the shelf, so it might be best to avoid that aisle altogether. Unless you want to put them at risk of becoming overweight and diabetic when they’re in their teens. In which case, go ahead – have your Fruit Loops.
